Situated in southwestern Broward County FL, Miramar Florida is 14 miles in length from east to west and 2.5 miles in width. It is the second largest city in Broward County Florida.

Miramar Florida has outstanding Public Safety Departments with a full-time staff of professionally trained and certified firefighters and police officers. The City has two water treatment plants, one wastewater treatment plant, and all other services necessary for the health and welfare of its residents.

Eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, Ana G. Mendez University, a charter school and a special needs school are located in Miramar. A community college is located just outside the City limits on the city’s northern border. A regional trade and technical school is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Miramar. Three major hospitals are within a one to five mile radius of the city limits.

There are 22 neighborhood parks, one regional park and nine community parks in the city where athletic activities such as the following are available for sports enthusiasts: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, handball, racquetball, tennis, volleyball, and jogging.

There are approximately 12,160 acres of vacant land in the western section of Miramar, which makes up approximately two-thirds of the City’s total land area. The availability of large tracts of land, with access to major transportation networks – 1-75, the Sawgrass Expressway, the Florida Turnpike and 1-95 – and nearby labor markets, offers and excellent opportunity for residential, office park, industrial, and commercial development. The major airports and seaports, colleges, shopping and cultural centers, and beaches are all located within a short driving distance of Miramar.
