This Holiday Season give just a little and you can help feed 200 families in need of a hearty Thanksgiving dinner.

Davie is hosting a Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive to help the nonprofit HOPE Outreach Center provide 200 families with a holiday dinner this year.

If you have the possibilities please include a $25 gift certificate for the turkey and something festive for the basket. You can drop off canned goods from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at four locations: Davie Police Department, 1230 S. Nob Hill Road; Davie Town Hall, 6591 Orange Drive; Davie Fire Rescue/Public Works Administration, 6911 Orange Drive; and Davie Pine Island Multipurpose Center, 3801 S. Pine Island Road.

Thanksgiving Meal in a Box:  The following items should be placed in either a plastic container with lid or a box: two cans of green beans; two cans of sweet corn; one can mixed vegetables; one can of yams; two cans of turkey gravy; two cans of cranberry sauce; two cans of black beans; one can of baked beans; one box of instant mashed potatoes; one 5 lb. box of minute white rice or bag of rice; two boxes/bags of stuffing; six cups of applesauce; one family-size can of peaches or fruit cocktail; one large bag of cookies; one large box of crackers; one package of napkins; one 4-pack package of toilet paper; one jar of peanut butter; one jar of grape or strawberry jelly; one jar of peanuts; one large bag of chips; one box or large bag of popcorn; one large box of cereal; 1 gallon of juice; one bottle of vegetable oil.
